Running

Team IBProFun is a social nonprofit running group aiming to motivate and support both established and aspiring athletes in Kern County.

The mission of Bakersfield Track Club is to promote fitness and wellness through running by creating and supporting events for runners of all ages and abilities.

The Donut Shop Racers run almost 7 days a week in the northeast area of Bakersfield. Check here for updates and for a link to be added to their email list.

Andy Noise is the founder of the Bakersfield Distance Project, and compiles links and information for many running and walking events in Kern County.


Cycling

Bike Bakersfield is a nonprofit organization working to promote active transportation. Walking and bicycling transform our communities by reinventing transportation and offering solutions to the universal challenges of health, livability and the environment.

The Kern Wheelmen Bicycle Club is a nonprofit club dedicated to organizing cycling activities for all levels and ages of riders. We are a social club promoting cycling fun for all.

Bakersfield Tri Spokes aims to unite our local triathletes by offering a resource for all things swimming, biking, and running to Bakersfield and Kern County.

Sam Barn Events, which is run by a couple of local cyclists, offers unique local cycling events, such as the infamous Rock Cobbler.

The Southern Sierra Hiking Club organizes hikes in many areas.

The local chapter of the Sierra Club also organizes hikes.


Par Course

Kern River par course- located next to the Kern River on Truxtun Ave. between Commercial Way and Mohawk Dr.

Aera Park par course-  located on Jewetta near the intersection of Stockdale Hwy. in the Aera Park baseball complex


Sand Volleyball

Public courts are located in the Kern River Parkway just west of Mohawk


Route suggestions and reviews

The Finish Line bike store, which is right on the Parkway across from CSUB, rents bikes, and has a number of bike routes on their website
